Fall 2015 Registration

Welcome to the University of South Dakota! As a member of USD's incoming class for 2015, you will have the opportunity to register for your fall classes beginning in the spring 2015. 

Registration

Once you have been accepted, you will receive your New Student Checklist for completing the items necessary prior to registering for classes. The checklist items are also available below.

    Once you complete your checklist you will receive information on how to sign-up for your registration choice beginning in Spring 2015:
  • Fast Track Registration sessions have been completed for 2014.  To register for classes contact your admissions counselor for options.

     
      
Registration Checklist
Before you can register, you must first complete the following steps from your registration checklist:

Submit your $100 University Deposit

Your $100 university deposit makes your admission official. Your deposit reserves your spot in the incoming class, provides you with your on-campus housing options and confirms any scholarship offers you receive from USD. You'll need to submit your deposit before features such as signing up for your housing and obtaining your USD e-mail become available to you. Submit your University deposit

Commuter (off campus) students are not required to submit a University Deposit.

File your FAFSA

File your FAFSA by USD's priority deadline April 1. List USD's code of 003474 on your FAFSA.

Take your Placement Exam

The Placement Exam may be required for some students. Read more to determine if you need to take a placement exam.

Submit your immunization records to USD

All new, readmitted and transferred students are required to provide medically signed proof of TWO properly administered MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunizations OR immune titers for Measles (Rubeola), Rubella and Mumps.

Set up your USD e-mail account  (Beginning January 16)


NOTE: You will need to use your PREFERRED name when logging in to claim your email (EX. "Benjamin" but prefer "Ben"). If you receive an error when attempting to pick-up your email, make sure you are using your preferred name.

Your USD email will become your primary source for important information. You will receive your registration options, housing information and other important notifications at this address. Please check it regularly for updates from USD.

Set up your WebAdvisor access  
   checkbox  Complete and submit the online Housing Application or Exemption Request 
Beginning January 27 at 10 a.m.The Housing Application and exemption request form for Fall 2014 will be available online (Nov. 1 for Spring 2015) .
Beginning February 24 at 10 a.m.:  Log onto your Housing Application and complete your roommate and preferred resident hall request.

Fill out your Registration Survey
Completing this form will assist your advisor during your registration session.

Once you have completed these steps you will receive further details for registration in your USD e-mail. Please check it regularly for important information.

After you have received your options, you can make your selection online through the myU.portal and sign up for the available registration option that best suits you.

   checkbox Send the Admissions Office your final high school transcript after you graduate (Required.)
   checkbox Send the Admissions Office your final college transcripts to receive any dual enrollment credit. Read more about dual enrollment.
   checkbox Beginning mid-April, financial aid award letters will be mailed to your permanent address. Read all information enclosed with the award letter before accepting your financial aid package. Please call the Financial Aid Office at 605-677-5446 with any questions.
   checkbox  Receive your roommate and residence hall assignment beginning June 23, 2014.
   checkbox  Reserve your books online and if necessry, purchase your parking pass
   checkbox  After you register for classes, your bill will be available online at your SD Epay account: You will NOT receive a paper copy of your bill.
