IdEA Program
The U's IdEA program - Interdisciplinary Education and Action - provides you with a liberal learning experience where today's issues become the subjects of your classes.
Focusing on topics such as justice, community and sustainability, you'll develop your critical thinking skills while exploring the meaningful connections that exist among the disciplines.
Ideas into Action
As part of the program, you'll put your education into action by engaging in an action project with your classmates, your faculty or a community partner:
- Service-learning
- Research
- Creative activity
- Civic involvement
- Study abroad
- Other activities closely related to your course content
Each year students combine for more than 12,000 hours of service and other action components in USD's IdEA program.
